ELECTRO-DYNAMIC RETARDATION WITH PERMANENT MAGNETS FOR RAILWAY TRANSPORT

Abstract:
In the research we have investigated some theoretical aspects of electro-dynamic retardation, which is based on the interaction between the fields of permanent magnets and the induced by the magnets field of eddy currents in a carriage wheel. We have determined parameters of braking and compared numerical and experimental results. This comparison demonstrated extremely effectiveness of the considered mathematical model of the retardation.
