A MOTOR DESIGN APPROACH FOR A CUSTOMER SPECIFIC DEVELOPMENT AT PM°DM

Abstract:
The competition in the modern market of permanent magnet electrical motors forces manufactures to raise quality and performance of motors on one side and to reduce product and development cost on the other. Moreover customer specific requests are very common in this market. In order to be successful companies therefore must react very fast by having a very efficient R&D process. Years of experience have formed at PM°DM the unique R&D technology which makes it possible to realise a new motor design in a very short period. It consists of different means such as rough design tools, FEA, real-time dynamic simulations, rapid prototyping and finally comprehensive tests. Altogether this design approach shows to be highly effective in practice.
