TRACTION AND NORMAL FORCES OF LINEAR INDUCTION MOTORS FOR MONORAIL TRANSPORT SYSTEM

Abstract:
The object of investigation is the traction linear induction motor (LIM) for passenger monorail transport system. The active primary part of the LIM is plate single-sided winding inductor placed on the vehicle. The wellknown linear induction drive advantages can not be used in the full scale because of the specific properties of linear motors such as the end- and thickness-effects, large and nonpermanent nonmagnetic gap, non-balanced normal force between primary and secondary parts. So the objective of this paper is the mathematical modeling and investigation of the traction and normal force components for the single-sided LIM.
