ELECTROTECHNOLOGY OF STEEL PRODUCTION AND ELECTRODYNAMIC INTERACTIONS IN ARC STEEL FURNACE

Abstract:
The report states the mathematical model of electrodynamic interactions between the electrode and the three phase electric holder of an arc steel furnace. The model allows to change flexibly the level of detail of the construction of the electrodes moving system and takes into account non-linearity of the arc electric furnace contour. The model is based on the finite-element method.
The contemporary solutions in arc steel furnace design and technologies of steel production such as spring-loaded rollers, conducting hoses, foamy slags end etc., essentially effect on electrodynamic interactions level. The model allows to estimate increase or decrease of negative consequences of electrodynamic interactions for these solutions.
Numeric simulation gave possibility to determine the range of electric and mechanic parameters of the furnace providing minimal reduction of input power, level of the flicker-effect and elements dynamic loads.
