LIGHT INTENSITY CURVES CALCULATIONS OF FLAT LIGHT GUIDES WITH PRISMATIC ELEMENTS

Abstract:
Flat light guides are modern solution that enables production of luminaires with large area and low height. A luminous flux is transported along the guide using the physical principle of total internal reflection and then is directed by optical elements. Prismatic elements are most common here since they are easy to manufacture. The paper presents Monte Carlo method of calculating light intensity curves for such elements and measurement result of the given models.
