TIME DELAY ESTIMATION IN THE CORRELATION METHOD OF SPEED MEASUREMENT

Abstract:
The paper presents an aircraft low speed measurement concept based on a principle of received signals correlation. The principle on the base of theoretical analysis is discussed and correlation radar structure is considered. The correlation radar basic problem is the time delay estimation between signals scattered from earth surface, received in antennas system with certain base. These signals are created by the same scattering surface and for this reason have identical stochastic nature. The differences are included in time shift between them, called the time delay. This parameter is a primary information in analysed measurement method. The paper presents two algorithms of correlated signals time delay estimation. The first one uses step descent method whereas the other one performs Roth processor principle. The methods principles are considered and signal processing results are presented.
